When Is a Person a Writer or an Author?

In my opinion, a writer is a magical being who reveals their true nature and power through their words. Dissecting questions and problems, laying them out on the table to reveal their own truths and beliefs. A writer plays with words and phrases and is content if they can put a sentence together. Everyone has a story and has something to say, but a writer is the brave soul who writes it down for the whole world to see. Through their work, writers reveal their inner darkness or light and are not afraid to face it. For what is reality, the world itself, or what you think and believe of the world? That is a question writers can answer in a million different ways, while others go through life without thinking about it once. Writers might keep to themselves, but that is because they already saw the truth. The world is there to be explored in a million ways and writers are the warriors who set out to conquer as many of those ways as they can. Cherish every writer for they make the world a better place one page at a time. Through them and their stories, you might see your own life in a different way and realize how blessed you are, or, it might reveal what you can change to have more, or, at the very least, it can be an escape from your immediate problems. Life after all is a series of words, chapters of events, and books of achievements. What you write is your choice, but are you brave enough to put it on paper and show it to the world?

So, when is a person an author? Is it when they write every day? Or when you are published? Or do you just need to write, whenever you can or want? It is difficult to define and even more difficult to call yourself a writer or an author.  Am I already a writer, already living an author’s dream? I only need to write and finish something I am proud of? Well, whatever I am, a writer or not, an author or not, it is fun to create my stories  and put them on paper and hopefully I will have something magical soon. Something I can be proud of, something I can call my own.

So good luck to me and all you writers out there.
